Angola held by Cranes in Luanda

Uganda captain david obuaAngola and Uganda drew 0-0 in a delayed 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played on Monday.

There were very few chances created in a dull game.

The result leaves Group Three wide open, with Benin top on nine points, followed by Angola and Uganda with seven points each.

The game at Luanda's Coqueiros Stadium was postponed because the referees' flight was late.

Benin ended Niger's dreams of reaching the second phase of the qualifiers after a 2-0 win over the visitors on Sunday.

The Squirrels dominated the game in Cotonou but had to until the 45th minute for Jocelyn Ahoueya to put them in the lead.

Defender Karim Oumarou inadvertently put the ball in his own net ten minutes after the break to seal the victory for Benin.

The defeat means Niger have no chance of advancing to the second group stage, as they are yet to gain a point with only two matches remaining.

Ghana reclaim top spot in Gp 5

Sulley muntariPortsmouth winger Sulley Muntari scored as Ghana reclaimed top spot in their World Cup qualifying group with a 2-0 home win over Gabon on Sunday.

Muntari got the second goal in the Group Five match in Accra, the first time the Black Stars had played at the Ohene Djan stadium since their semi-final defeat in the African Nations Cup in February.

Striker Prince Tagoe put Ghana 1-0 up after 30 minutes as he flicked the ball on with his head and then ran past two defenders to score.

Muntari got the second goal with a close-range shot from Quincy Owusu-Abeyie's cross.

Ghana lead Libya on goal difference at the top of the standings.

Libya beat a desperately poor Lesotho outfit 4-0 at home in their qualifier in Tripoli on Friday.

Osama Salah got Libya off to a perfect start with a fourth-minute goal after taking advantage of a defensive slip-up.

The 'Greens' scored thrice in the second half to complete the rout of the Group Five strugglers.

Defenders Omar Dawood and Younis al-Shibani were among the second-half marksmen for the home side.

Midfielder Hesham Shaban completed the scoring nine minutes from full-time at the 60,000-seat National Stadium in the Libyan capital city.
